Workshops in Pastoral Care Visiting

Workshops in Pastoral Care Visiting will be taking place on two Wednesdays each month, starting on February 23rd. Anyone in the congregation who would be interested in visiting on behalf of Balfron Church would be very welcome to attend. They will be run by two Presbytery Trainers, in the Church Rooms at 7:30pm. Topics include Listening Skills, Visiting young families, Visiting in loss and bereavement etc. For more information contact Margaret on 01360 850492

UPDATE

The first workshop took place on 25th Feb with 16 members. After readings and Prayer, the leaders Janette Russell and Margaret Baxter, led them through discussion of some questions. The tone was very informal with a chat about the previous visiting arrangements.

Pastoral Care Workshops – Update 3rd March
 

Another useful workshop was held last evening, on the subject of ‘Listening Skills – Handling a Grievance’.
 

There was more content than the introductory meeting. I have spare copies of the two sheets of notes.  Also we used an MP3 player to record parts of this session. Anyone wishing to listen to this recording should speak to Helen Campbell.
The next 3 dates were fixed as March 23rd and 30th and April 6th.  The next topics will be ‘Visiting in Loss and Bereavement’ and ‘Visiting the Sick and Terminally ill’.
