Balfron Heritage Group

Balfron Heritage Group was founded in 1989 to organise and exhibition of the village’s past to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the building of Ballindalloch Cotton Works in 1790 – an event which transformed this sleepy Stirlingshire hamlet into a bustling village at the heart of the Industrial Revolution.
After the success of the Exhibition in the old Co-operative Drapery in Buchanan Street, the need was seen to continue the heritage Group which has gone from strength to strength over the past fifteen years or so.

Fintry Kirk

Rebuilt in 1823 around an original Kirk of 1642, only the bell was retained and is still in regular use today. With its superb Victorian, Memorial World War and modern stained glass, this is a beautiful, yet simple house of God. A much needed Session house was added in the kirkyard in 1992.
Fintry and Balfron are linked churches, sharing a minister.
